Dear Parent/Carer

This letter sets out details of the various summer special needs playschemes which are being run by the Home Based Break Service.

All the schemes will give priority to children/young people with special needs but will also welcome siblings and/or friends where space allows.

Summer Activities

Tigers Summer Scheme.

Ages 5 –12 years

Pathways School, Castleford

26^th July until 30^th July.

Panthers Summer Scheme

Ages 10–16 years

Lawfield Lane School, Wakefield

2^nd August until 6^th August.

Kittens Summer Scheme

Ages 5 –10 years

Balne Lane Community Centre, Wakefield.

9^th August until 13^th August.

There will be a charge of £3 a day at these schemes (£6 a day if transport is required) and everyone will need to bring a packed lunch.

Please complete the registration form and return it to me at Flanshaw Childrens’ Centre (see above).

Places will be limited so an early response is advisable, the closing date for applications is Friday 11th June.

We cannot guarantee that everyone who wants a place will be successful. Where young people are accessing holiday club activities at the Open Door or Cross Keys priority will be given to others.

If you are not sure which scheme would be most suitable for your child, please feel free to give me a ring for a chat.

Although these schemes are for 5 –16 year olds there may be the opportunity for 17 and 18 year olds to become young volunteers.

If your child is successful in gaining a place, a more detailed form will be sent to you requesting further details about any support needs/ special requirements that your child may have.

We are presently recruiting staff for all these schemes but are always looking for volunteers to help – so please let me know if you are willing to lend a hand (or do you know someone who is?).
